Folks, we've posted a handful of slideshows in the past few weeks and want to know what you think. Please take our poll and let us know if you'd like to see more, or if we should focus our efforts on other things. And if you have comments about what else you'd like, feel free to comment on this post. As always, thanks for helping us make The Who in the Studio better! - Webmonkey | |

More NEW STUFF!
We've published two more slideshows. I know some of the images won't be new to everyone, especially to the longtime fans. But perhaps almost everyone will find greater context in how we've chosen to present them. We're trying to tell the story of the band in the studio most of all, so that's what most of our slideshows will focus on. But there is only so much content readily available, so we're going to slip in some others slideshows, too, mostly images that show the band in between the studio and their many gigs. They were fortunate to have a tight group of supporters around them in the early years to freeze many moments in time (including the more infamous moments, too.) Enjoy the slideshows here, and be sure to thank the wonderful photogs for all their priceless work. And many more photos are on the way... - Webmonkey OK, something very exciting to announce is the creation of a new forum dedicated to the band's activities in the studio:
The Who in the Studio Discussion Forum The forum is very basic and limited, due in no small part to the fact that this is a free forum. The idea is to then expand this out to a better forum but ONLY if there is enough activity and interest in it for me to justify to the good lady wife that I need to spend cash on this beast. A bit of decorum is required of everyone that contributes; I'm all for a bit of lively debate and argument, but it HAS to be constructive -- flamers and trolls will be blocked. To that end, obviously, any kind of discrimination, racism or general "badness" will see you blocked. We want this place to be fun and informative and open to anyone that would like to contribute to this site becoming bigger and better. Please, let's also keep the threads on-topic in terms of the fact that this isn't a place to discuss other artists' work at length -- there's no space for that here. So, let's give it a go and see what happens over the next month or so. Enjoy! -- Benn You'll all be tired of me by the time this day is out ;0)
The updates following Luke's first round of amendments are all done and (subject to another look by him) dusted. I've added another mix of 'I'm The Face' to the 1964 page as well as the original stereo mixes of the "My Generation tracks from both "Who's Missing" and "Two's Missing". It's taken me precisely 96 minutes as a complete D U N C E when it comes to anything technical, so, Jon, please forgive me if what I've done ...and planning.
Jon and I, as you will all know, have been throwing around ideas as to how to make this place more enticing in terms of people repeatedly coming back to look in. I'd like to provide a news page, but, in all honesty, that is being properly done by Matt Kent over at his site (see our Friends page for further info) and the history is covered in multiple books (Anyway Anyhow Anywhere by Matt Kent & Andy Neill) but no better on-line than at Brian Cady's place (again, see Friends). So they're kinda out in terms of me not adding any value. We've listened (read) to what you all had to say through the Feedback and Survey forms and you'll now begin to see more media popping up along the way - this, I like very much but it'd be interesting to hear if anyone has suggestions on how we can display stuff like this? Jon and I will launch something next week that will, hopefully, be up here as a test for just a short while and expand out in to something bigger and better quite quickly. We are excited about it and I think you will be too.......... There are still changes to be made to the main lists courtesy of Luke's feedback to us and I'm sorry it has taken me so long to do but things here at work have been incredibly hectic the last 10 days but, hopefully, they should calm down in the near future; leaving me more time to moonlight - naughty boy! Cheers, Benn |
